Emergency services descend on Greater Manchester town centre street (2025)

Emergency services are in attendance on a busy Bolton town centre street after a fire broke out at an abandoned building.

Fire crews are at the scene on Bradshawgate this morning (March 31) alongside police and paramedics.

A cordon is in place on Bradshawgate, with several fire engines in attendance.

Images from the scene show a number of buses have stopped close to where emergency services are in attendance.

A ladder appears to have been used by the fire service to tackle a blaze at a property.

At least one ambulance is parked up on the street, while Greater Manchester Police has been seen in attendance.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Shortly before 9am this morning (Monday, March 31), fire crews responded to reports of a building fire on Bradshawgate in Bolton.

“Six fire engines tackled the fire at a three-storey terraced style commerical abandoned building.

"Firefighters used breathing apparatus and three hose reels to extinguish the fire. Crews remain on the scene at this time to make the area safe.”

GMP says it was called out to reports of a fire at around 9am today. No injuries have been reported following the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.

It is not aware of any casualties following the incident.

A GMFRS spokesperson said:
